The Didache

The Didache — 'The Teaching of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus,' the word itself meaning 'teaching' — is a short treatise of early Christianity, dated by most scholars to the late first or early second century AD. This instructional work has three main parts, dealing with Christian teaching, church ordinances such as baptism and the Lord's Supper, and church organization. It is considered the first written treatise on the church.
