It is not only God who loves new things; human beings, too, long to make the old new. That is why, when the almighty God adorns nature with the ornaments of spring, we also make our homes and lives as beautiful as we can. Watching this annual miracle of spring raises a question: does the God who loves beauty and creates goodness and freshness care only for outward appearances, or does He care for the inward and spiritual as well? And would the One who makes the trees and flowers young again not also desire to renew the spirit of joy and gladness in humanity?
