"He wanted me for myself, just as I was."

From my teens I wanted people to pity me and love me. At 21 I turned to drugs to draw attention. I did many wrong things—stealing, running away, multiple suicide attempts, parties, and more. Over time I became deeply addicted, and my family forced me into rehab.
I always told my mother she was the cause of all my misery, and she kept cursing me. I became a shame to my family. My doctor told them it would be better to hospitalise me in a psychiatric ward. For me it made little difference whether I was at home or in hospital.
For a while my mother stopped cursing me. I asked, “Tired of cursing me because it never worked?
She said, “No—I’m praying for you. I’ve become a Christian.”
I mocked her at first, but a few days later I told her, “If you go to church, I’ll come too.” When I entered, everyone showed me such love that I stayed to the end.
A woman told me, “Do you know God loves you? Do you know He loves you to the point of jealousy?”
That was exactly what I wanted—to be noticed! At the next meeting with my mother, I gave my heart to Jesus.
From that day everything changed. I knew Jesus noticed me and that I mattered to Him.
Now, with a better knowledge of Jesus, I know God has healed me. I understand why all my suicide attempts failed; God preserved me. Through me, several people have come to know and accept Jesus.
Even my doctor is still amazed, and I told him Jesus Christ healed me!
