Iran is a young nation. Around 35% of its 93 million people are under 25.  

For years, many young Iranians have grown disillusioned—wearied by religious hypocrisy and corruption and frustrated by the lack of social and intellectual freedom. Economic hardship and limited opportunities have made it difficult for them to imagine stable, meaningful futures.  

That uncertainty has now deepened. Following the brutal crackdown during the protests of January 2026—where young people stood at the forefront and bore the greatest cost—the nation has entered a time of war.  

Among Iran’s youth, there is a mixture of fragile hope and deep fear. Some long for change, wondering if this moment could lead to a better future. Others fear the opposite—that the regime is tightening its grip, repression will increase, and economic hardship will worsen.  

Many young people are now carrying grief, trauma, and unanswered questions about what lies ahead.  

And yet, amid this uncertainty, they are searching—for hope, for healing, and for something secure to hold onto.  

For Iranian Christians—many of whom are also young—this is a crucial moment. They are called to share, in both word and deed, the love of Christ with a generation longing for hope.
