Iran: land of wounded but open hearts

On this first day, let us lift the whole nation of Iran to the Living God who hears and answers prayer:

A nation at war, facing an uncertain future. And a nation still reeling with grief and trauma after tens of thousands of Iranians were massacred in early 2026, as the regime violently suppressed the most widespread protest movement it had seen in a generation.

A nation where, for most of the population, the legitimacy of the Islamic regime lies in tatters.

A nation that is the second largest in the Middle East by both landmass and population, home to 93 million people.

A nation whose government opposes Christianity, bans Bibles, arrests evangelists, and threatens the lives of those who leave Islam to follow Christ.

But also, a nation whose disillusioned people are the most open to Christ in the region.

And a nation where the rapidly growing house church movement is courageously at work, ministering with the compassion of Christ among their neighbors.

Prayer Points
For healing and hope for all affected by the war and the recent massacres.
For hearts to turn to Christ.
For the church in Iran to shine as a beacon of hope in the darkness.
